Monday

Junior Camp I began today at Camp Christian Conference Center.  Everyone shares in the excitement of the beginning of camp.  Our theme for this year is “Under God’s Roof.”  We are happy to let you know that everyone here has “God’s Roof” and a “Cabin Roof” over their heads.

One child said that he was planning to take it easy on the counselors this week.  I think his parents were glad to drop him off.  Seriously, all is well here as we begin a God centered week of study and heavy duty play Under God’s Roof!

The Big Tree at the entrance greeted us as we came to camp.
Registration in Lavery Hall.
Parents and friends here are your kids being calm and listening to a list of all the fun planned for their week at camp.
Campers and counselors play “Stand Up if . . . “
Dining in Lavery Hall at lunch.
The red punch was a big hit!
Here we are lined up in an almost straight line for our swim test!

Tuesday

Today we celebrated “Under God’s Humid Roof!”  Small Groups, crafts and rest time were big fun today.  We took advantage of craft time, singing, and meals inside the Air-Conditioned Lavery Hall.  Do not worry parents we are drinking our fluids.

We also had plenty of time for worship and study.  Everyone is having fun and enjoying the opportunity to be at Camp Christian.  All the campers tell me that they like their counselors and no one wants to go home – yet!  We think they will be ready to go by Friday!

Direct from the campers: Please don’t forget to pick us up!

Here we are playing “Fruit Basket Turnover”
This game was about a squirrel and a tree?
In the Sand Volleyball Court
Paddle Boating

Canoeing.

Wednesday

“In the beginning was the Word,” and in the middle is Wednesday night cookout.  The week is half over and our campers have only begun to have fun!

Camp moved into full swing today as we studied about God’s world.  Today we began our project for the birds that live “Under God’s Roof.”  All the birds at Camp Christian will be eating well from their peanut butter, pinecone and birdseed feeders.  We are learning many wonderful things about God’s world and the plans God has made for our lives.

Four-Square fun!

Ping Pong under the tent!
Counselor Amanda wanted the folks at home to noticed that she was playing Four-Square!
So many burgers that we need 3 chefs

Thursday

The rains came on Thursday afternoon, but as you will see we got in some fishing and boating in-between the showers.  Tonight is the big Talent and skit night so check back tomorrow for pictures.

These are shots from the Wednesday night swim.

Now how about some music
That’s a catfish!

Friday

Well now it is time for us to wind up our camp for 2003!

Thanks to all the counselors and our directors Stephen and Terressa!

Here are some shots from our Talent Night on Thursday.  As you will see the rain did not dampen our spirits at camp this year.

Everyone is looking forward to next summer!
