The
Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Georgia
Walk the Camp Christian Prayer Walk Labyrinth next time you
are at Camp.
Construction on the Prayer Walk Labyrinth began on May 1,
2004 at the Camp Christian Work Day. Campers all during the
summer of 2004 have been working on the prayer walk and it
is now ready for use. Work continues on the woodchips that
will be in the path of the walk.
Design of Camp Christian Conference Center Labyrinth with
the Roswell Christian Church Meditation Chapel in the center
The Chalice near the center of the prayer walk.
The entrance to the Labyrinth.
The Labyrinth was made possible by a gift from Roswell Christian Church. The Chapel in the center is named in honor of the Disciple congregation which is now closed.
The chapel has benches facing North, South,
East, and West.
Woodchips line the path.
Walking the Labyrinth is a Christian Spiritual Practice.
The Labyrinth is not a
maze. It does not have any false turns. Instead it
is a steady walk toward the center.
The Labyrinth symbolizes the Christian Life as we strive to
grow closer to God.
All camps, conferences and retreats will be able to use this
wonderful resource as they practice the life long journey toward
God from the outside to the center.
