Sekinah Hamlin, SERF Minister For Anti-Racism And Reconciliation for the
Southeastern U.S.The
Christian Church in Georgia collaborated with the other 7 regions in the
southeastern United States to call a person to do specialized ministries
of Anti Racism and Reconciliation.
Rev. Sekinah Hamlin of Greensboro N.C. has been called to serve in
the position. Rev. Hamlin is an ordained minister in the Christian
Church (Disciples of Christ) who has most recently served as Director of
Multicultural Education, Chief Diversity Officer and First Year
Experience Instructor at Guilford College in Greensboro, NC, a position
she has held for the past four years.
Rev. Hamlin was recently named to the editorial board
of the Affirmative Action Newsletter. The Affirmative Action Register (AAR),
a leading national equal opportunity employment magazine and website,
has formed an editorial board comprised of business and academic
diversity experts to provide guidance and expertise on issues regarding
diversity and inclusion in the workplace. They will also regularly
contribute content to the publication and its corresponding website,
www.aarjobs.com,
based on their perspective and experience. Rev. Hamlin’s role in
Georgia will be to work with our Reconciliation Task force and with
staff to develop strategies for addressing issues of Racism in our
Region. |
