Biographical Sketch
Galina Alexandovna Obrovets
Galina
Alexandrovna Obrovets was born September 29, 1960 in Moscow, Russia. She
is married to Dr. Vladimir Obrovets, who is vice president of the
Russian American Christian University in Moscow. The Obrovets have a
son, Aloysha, and daughter in law, Marina. Both are graduates of the
Moscow State University.
Galina is also the Director of the Center
for Biblical Literacy in Moscow. The Center was founded by the Mission
for Biblical Literacy,USA to continue a Christian ministry in Russia and
also in Armenia. The Center receives its funding from the Mission for
Biblical Literacy. Galina speaks flawless English and also serves as a
translator and interpreter for Christian missionaries. She is a graduate
of the Historical Archives Institute of Moscow.
Galina and her family are members of the
second Baptist Church of Moscow. The Second Baptist Church was one of
the churches that originally started in 1990 as a mission church of the
Central Baptist Church of Moscow. Her husband, Dr. Obrovets is a
Co-Pastor of the 2nd Baptist Church.
Galina is known by many American
Christians and her latest work in literature is a journal for Russian
women called CECTRA translated means “Sister”. The journal is becoming
well known through Russia and in some Russian speaking churches in
America. |
