Church to celebrate 50th Anniversary

Fifty years ago, First Christian Church was started in Warner Robins.

On June 10, 2007 we will have a celebration, inviting former ministers and people who have had a connection to come back and celebrate our first 50 years. We will begin around 9:00 AM with a continental breakfast and opportunities to look at pictures and scrapbooks of the history of the church as well as share stories. Worship will begin at 10:30 with special guest and special music. There will be a catered luncheon following church and then more fellowship time with the youth leading games for children who attend.

If you have spent anytime at First Christian in Warner Robins, we would like you to our guest and join the celebration. Please call the church (478) 923-1536 or e-mail us at fcc_wr@juno.com to RSVP.

Christmas Live Nativity

For many years, First Christian Church in Warner Robins has done a Christmas Pageant with a live nativity scene. After experiencing the puppets at the Kansas City Assembly, the church created their own puppets to give their pageant a little something new and special. Phil Bossarge created the frames and Marsha Vandervort and Catherine Peters created the heads and the costumes for 5 puppets, Mary, Joseph, a shepherd, an angel and a wise man. Adults wear the puppets and children fill in as additional shepherds, angels and wise men. The Christmas story has been recorded and set to music and played as the puppets and children act out the story. It is fascinating to see traffic passing the church slow down as they see the lights and these 8 to 9 foot puppets moving around.  Pastor Darrell Vandervort says that this is the only time he has ever had the opportunity to play the part of Mary, since he is completely covered by the puppets costume.
