Ordination of Charles F. Marshall, III

Ordination is a once in a lifetime event. So we are very pleased to extend congratulations to Charles F. Marshall, III, on his ordination to Christian ministry on October 27, 2013. The service was held at Community Christian Church in Fayetteville. Charles is the founding and senior minister of Fountain of Hope CC in Atlanta which began in 2009. He has served as a Commissioned Minister for Fountain of Hope while completing the requirements for ordination. Commissioned ministers are authorized for a particular ministry in a particular place. Ordained ministry is authorization for ministry across the whole church.

Charles’ uncle, The Rev. Dr. Cleveland D. Houser, delivered the ordination sermon. Dr. Houser is an ordained minister in the Seventh-day Adventist Church who has served as pastor, chaplain and seminary professor during his years of ministry. The Rev. Monica Wedlock, a member of Ray of Hope Christian Church, and the chair of the Ordination Council for The Rev. Charles F. Marshall, III represented the Georgia Regional Commission on Ministry. The Rev. Dr. Karen Frank-Plumlee and The Rev. Bob Frank-Plumlee, Co-Interim Regional Ministers of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Georgia led portions of the service.

The Rev. Dr. Mary A. Leonard, retired from the U.S. Army and currently a hospice chaplain, and a member and an Associate Minister of Fountain of Hope Christian Church in Atlanta represented the congregation in the service. Also representing the congregation was Charles long-time friend, The Rev. Michael Axon. Mr. Bill Cooper and Mrs. Babs Lupo, both of Community Christian Church, participated in the service. Special thanks and appreciation go to Community Christian Church for graciously providing the gathering place and for a beautiful reception after the service.
