Remembering Violet Lord Lowe
March 19, 1917 - December 30, 2008
Violet
Lord Lowe was born on March 19, 1917, in High Shoals, GA. It was there
that she was baptized at an early age and became a member of the High
Shoals Christian Church. She was an active member there until her
marriage to Harris Smith Lowe in 1938. That same year she moved her
membership to Good Hope Christian Church and remained a faithful member
for seventy years until her death on December 30, 2008.
Violet and Harris and their two daughters, Sue (Shirey) and Betty
(Bowers), were actively involved in the activities of the Christian
church on the local, district, and state level. Violet looked forward
each year to attending the state CWF retreats. She often entertained and
blessed those gathered there with her harmonica! She was especially
excited to be able to attend the Quadrennial Assembly at Purdue
University in Indiana in 1990.
Violet worked as a CNA (Certified Nurses Assistant) and volunteer for
twenty years at Family Life Enrichment Center in High Shoals. She always
put in a good word for the center everywhere she went. She spent the
last few months of her life as a resident at FLEC and found that her
words of praise were indeed accurate! Those desiring may send memorials
to
