Favorite Pumpkin Patch Opens Oct. 3 at
Peachtree Corners Christian Church
Pumpkin
Patch season is upon us and one of the favorites of Peachtree Corners
opens Oct. 3-31 at Peachtree Corners Christian Church, located at 6060
Spalding Drive, Norcross, GA.
The “Patch” will be open daily from Oct. 3-31, weekdays and Sundays,
from noon till 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. till 8 p.m. All sizes
and types of pumpkins will be available for purchase ranging from extra
large to “mini” pumpkins, plus a selection of gourds and Indian corn.
There are pumpkins for every budget, from 50 cents to over $25.
All proceeds from the Pumpkin Patch go to support a variety of church
and other ministries such as Norcross Cooperative Ministry, Family
Promise of Gwinnett, and Gwinnett Children’s Shelter, which need
community support more than ever in these difficult economic times.
This year, in addition to the "Patch", the church is planning
something a "Community Campfire" on Saturday, October 29, from 6 to 9
p.m. Everyone is invited to join in some old-fashioned fun around the
campfire as we roast hot dogs, make s'mores, and enjoy campfire songs
and storytelling. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and stop by to enjoy
this fun evening for all ages.
For more information about these events, contact the church at 770
447-5475 or visit http://www.peachtreecornerscc.org/pumpkins.
Program available on "Women of Faith in
Turkey"
Are
you looking for a program for your church group or Disciples Women's
group? How would you like to learn more about women of faith in
Turkey and how they live? Rev. Kathy McDowell, pastor at
Peachtree Corners Christian Church in Norcross, journeyed to Turkey in
October 2010 as part of the Woman-to-Woman Worldwide program sponsored
by International Disciples Women's Ministries in conjunction with Global
Ministries. As part of this experience, she has committed to sharing
this journey with others in the church who may be interested in learning
more about our neighbors in Turkey.
The program is presented in a hands-on learning style, and includes
photos, maps, trivia, and a taste of real Turkish hospitality. For more
information or to schedule a program, please contact Rev. McDowell at
pastor@peachtreecornerscc.org.
