Maundy Thursday at
Sanctuary Christian Church
Maundy
Thursday at Sanctuary brought to light verse Mark 14: 13-14. So he sent
two of his disciples, telling them, “Go into the city, and a man
carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him. Say to the
owner of the house he enters, ‘The Teacher asks: Where is my guest room,
where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’
The
man with the jar- how many men carried jars in those days? Not
many. Why that day, why that man? Why did his master send
him out that day doing woman’s work? The man reflected on the
events that occurred from that encounter to Jesus’ death. The men
at the Passover Table- their reactions to what the LORD told them.
What a story in just 2 little verses.

The
beginning of December we hung the greens in our little church. One of
our attendees is from Germany and she handmade a garland that hung from
the ceiling just as the churches do in Germany.
On
Dec 17th we had a wonderful Christmas program. The adults started our
evening out by singing along with a narration of the Christmas story
told by Josh Medlin then the children “signed” a medley of Christmas
songs ranging from, “There’s s Star in the Sky, We Three Kings and
Silent Night”. As they signed they also were the miniature nativity
scene.
During
one point we even had our babies join as the animals ( a sheep and a
cow). In attendance were about 55 people. After the singing the children
handed to all that attended, stars they had made to remember this
evening then we followed by having cookies and punch. It was a lovely
evening.
