Rev. Leah Robinson Ordained
We
are proud to have participated in Leahs ordination on Sunday, July 29.
Leah was ordained to the Christian ministry at Peachtree Christian
Church and was surrounded by friends, family, peers, and church members.
Several SOJers took part in the service including Garen Dodson, Ray
Boettcher, Peggy Burns, Brett and Brandon Moore, James Burnham, Courtney
Caroli, Meghan Bonnemer and Jessica Braaten.
Sponsored by Spirit of Joy, Leah recently completed
the ordination process with the Commission on the Ministry of the
Christian Church in Georgia. She will be pursuing a Ph.D. in Scotland.
Rev. Robinson, we are proud that you are the first
ordained Disciple minister from SOJ.

The Spirit of Joy/Peachtree Christian Church Task
Force is pleased to announce the sale of its jointly held Flowery Branch
property on April 4, 2007. The purchaser of the fifteen acres, Habersham
Bank of Cornelia, plans to locate its corporate headquarters on the
property.
Spirit of Joy is beginning the search in the Flowery
Branch area for suitable land to build its new church. The congregation
is excited to know that, after seven years of worshipping in three
different locations, the "Promised Land" is closer than ever before!
During the course of its wanderings Spirit of Joy worshipped in a
school, an old Presbyterian church, and now is located in a converted
antique store.
With its commitment to new church growth, Peachtree
Christian Church partnered with Spirit of Joy and facilitated the
congregation's dream of a new church. Without the support of Peachtree,
the dream never would have materialized. |
