MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS: YOUR ROLE IN THE CONTINUUM OF CARE

Clergy, congregational, regional, and ministry leaders are invited to a workshop, Mental Health and Wellness: Your Role in the Continuum of Care on January 26, 2019, at Camp Christian in Gordon GA, beginning with continental breakfast at 9:30 am and concluding at 3 pm. Sponsored by the Georgia Regional Mental Health Initiative, this timely workshop will explore how congregations, clergy, chaplains, and clinicians can support mental health and wellness.

Keynote speaker will be Dr. Mark Poindexter, a former US Marine and current Disciples pastor who works with the National Benevolent Association Mental Health Initiative. The workshop will be moderated by Rev. Heather Hunnicutt, and panelests include Dr. Terry Crump, Rev. Tom Edmondson, and Rev. Orlando Scott, all of whom bring a range of experiences and knowledge in recognizing the signs of emotional distress, responding appropriately, and supporting recovery for the persons affected.  More information about the program and speakers is available on the workshop brochure.

The workshop is free, but registration is required by January 21 so that we can plan for lunch and continental breakfast.
