Rev, David Kenley installed at Johns Creek Christian Church's Senior Pastor

On Sunday, September 24, Reverend David W. Kenley was installed as Senior Minister of Johns Creek Christian Church, 10800 Bell Road, Johns Creek, GA.  Reverend Kenley came to Johns Creek Christian Church in October 2016 as Interim Minister.  Reverend Denise Bell, Regional Minister, Disciples of Christ, conducted the installation.  Of Reverend Kenley, Reverend Bell said, “This city, this congregation will be blessed with his leadership”.  Guest Preacher was Reverend Keith Elliott, the new Senior Minister’s long-time friend and mentor.  Reverend Kenley, a graduate of Auburn, who received his Master’s Degree in Divinity from Lexington Theological Seminary, Lexington, KY., has been an ordained minister for twenty-six years.  In his remarks during his installation, Reverend Kenley said that he wanted to emphasize that Johns Creek Christian Church is “an open and affirming congregation” and that “holy communion is open to all who want to join us at the Lord’s Table”.

Reverend Kenley is originally from Peoria, IL.  His wife Kim is originally from Dallas, TX.  In October they will celebrate their 28th wedding anniversary.  As with most ministers growing in their ministry, the Kenley’s have lived in a number of places, including ten years in Great Britain where they lived near Windsor Castle.  The new Senior Minister’s hobbies include motorcycling, travel, the Dallas Cowboys and the Atlanta Falcons.
