The men of the N.W. District met for fellowship and program on Saturday,
October 4, 2008 at First Christian Church of Atlanta. The program
began with a wonderful program of acapella and accompanied music from
the Men's Ensemble at First Atlanta. They sang Sacred Harp,
Barbershop Quartette and contemporary selections.
President elect, Will Perdue not only opened the program with
announcements but channeled the spirit of Sergeant Vince Carter (of Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C) to lead us in a very creative cheer for Christ to
the cadence of "I don't know but I've been told".
Rev. Ray Miles, Regional Minister of Georgia brought everyone up to date
on things going on in the Region.
Lance Lanier of First Atlanta Lead a Group Hymn Session of six hymns to
get everyone on their feet.
Then Rev. Lebron McBride of our Rome Church brought the message.
Lebron encouraged the men to move forward to renew and refill their
spirit, to slow down and hear the message of God and allow his spirit to
renew and to appreciate all that God has given us.
Following a closing Hymn, Phil Foster of First Atlanta led the
friendship circle, benediction and blessing for lunch.
Lunch consisted of roast pork and mashed potatoes and was excellent!
Thanks First Atlanta for your hospitality!
