2012 Disciples Men Layman of the
Year:
Kenneth Helton
Kenneth Helton a member of Newnan’s Liberty CC was honored during
morning worship on January 20 with the 2012 LAYMAN OF THE YEAR award.
Bob Grant, GA Disciples Men President presented him with the plaque. The
church which averages about 25 in worship had about 100 in attendance
for the service. All shared in a huge potluck meal after worship.
What everyone found surprising is that 100 people kept the
presentation a secret for up to two months. Ken Helton had no idea what
the day held. He was told that the meal was planned because Bob
Frank-Plumlee, Co-Interim Regional Minister would be in attendance.
There was some truth to it since Bob was in attendance.
