Speaker: Rev. Dr. Todd A. AdamsRev. Dr. Todd A. Adams serves as the Associate General Minister and Vice President of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada. In his current role he is the chief of staff for the General Minister and President, coordinating the church-wide governance bodies and gatherings of the church. Additionally, Rev. Adams is serving as the Interim President of the Disciples of Christ Historical Society.

Dr. Adams provides oversight of the denominationís mission funding system and manages the office finances, while serving as a liaison to several of the denominationís boards including the Pension Fund, Christian Church Foundation, National City Christian Church Foundation and National Benevolent Association.

Additionally, Todd maintains a regular preaching schedule, visiting 20-25 congregations a year in addition to leading workshops and retreats on congregational transformation, stewardship, clergy self-care, congregational vitality, and financial ethics. Todd consults with non-profit boards on governance best practices and is a Certified Governance Trainer for BoardSource.

Prior to serving in the Office of the General Minister and President, Adams was senior pastor of Memorial Drive Christian Church in Houston, TX. During this time, the congregation grew from 125 in worship to over 330 a Sunday. The congregationís giving increase from $350,000 to over $800,000 in addition to a $1.8MM capital campaign. While in Houston, Todd served on the Regional Board of the Christian Church in the Southwest, as Moderator of the Coastal Plains Area, and President of Disciples Oaks Retreat Center.

He is a 1994 graduate of Chapman University in Orange, CA. He has a Master of Divinity from Phillips Theological Seminary in Tulsa, OK. In 2007, he earned a Doctor of Ministry in the Steward as Leader focusing on non-profit organizational leadership and fund raising in the religious setting. During his doctoral studies at Wesley Theological Seminary, Todd served as a Lewis Fellow, researching effective models for leadership development and organizational transformation. In 2011, Todd was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Bethany College in recognition of his service to the Christian Church.

Todd and his wife Kimberly have been married for 20 years. They have two children, Claire and Jackson. Away from work, Todd serves as the President of the Carmel Swim Club Board of Directors and the General Chair of Indiana Swimming Board of Directors. Todd is also on the Governance Committee for USA Swimming and works with the Indiana Prospects 14U Baseball. Todd enjoys gardening, golf and coaching youth sports.
