Transy Home

Every year Transy (Transylvania University) offers a weekend experience called T.E.A.M. (Totally Excited about Ministry) for high school students who think they may be interested in ministry.

Many fulfilling opportunities await today's young men and women as ordained leaders of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Learn about possibilities in the Disciples ministry, in addition to congregational ministry, during a fun-filled, informative weekend at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky. High school students are eligible to attend this cost-free (except travel) TRANSY & T.E.A.M. weekend sponsored by Transylvania, the Christian Church in Kentucky, the Division of Higher Education, the Division of Homeland Ministries, and the Oreon E. Scott Foundation, and the Lilly Endowment Inc.

A Personal Testimony

Dianna Gill Attends Transy T.E.A.M. Weekend
Dianna is from Chattahoochee Christian Church in Duluth, GA

The weekend of November tenth through the twelfth, I went to Transy & T.E.A.M., Totally Excited About Ministry. This weekend was for teenagers thinking about going into ministry. I met many people and learned about many different types of ministry. Every person I met wanted to do something different, but we all had a common goal: to serve the Lord through serving people. One person I met wants to be a Chaplin for the Army. A couple others want to go into youth ministry, as do I. The majority wanted to become pastoral ministers.

I left Thursday afternoon with a youth group from First Christian Church of Deland, Florida and arrived in Kentucky Thursday night. I ate at the first KFC and learned that the Colonial was also a Disciple. Friday morning we went to Lexington. After we took a tour of the Transylvania campus, we went to Cambridge, which was very historical. On the way home, we went to visit Lynchburg College, as well as Barton College. When I saw Lynchburg and talked to a few students, I decided that was where the Lord was calling me. I will soon go with my mother to take a closer look. I had a fun time, and I hope more teenagers from Georgia will take the time to go on this trip. It was worth it.
