The Northeast District of the Christian Church (DOC) in Georgia has a long history of connection among their churches. This tradition of sharing and gathering continued on October 17 with a pulpit exchange in which congregations “swapped” preachers for the day. Rev. Elizabeth Hagan (FCC Athens) preached at Union Christian Church; Rev. Sheila Hunter (FCC Watkinsville) preached at FCC Winder; Rev. Alan Cloar (Union CC) preached at FCC Lawrenceville; Rev. Richard Williams (FCC Lawrenceville) preached at FCC Watkinsville; and Rev. Cheryl Cloar (FCC Winder) preached at FCC Athens. These Northeast District pastors stepped out in faith for this event, and challenge other Georgia Disciples churches to try a pulpit exchange, too. Visiting clergy found both an enthusiastic welcome and refreshment of the Spirit in their host congregations.
