If you are looking for new ways to partner in ministry with other Disciples congregations in Georgia, here are some opportunities to consider.
Peachtree Christian Church, Atlanta, is inviting you or your congregation to partner with them in their respite care program for people suffering cognitive decline. The program, The Legacy Club, which meets from 10 am to 2 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Peachtree Christian Church, is actively seeking volunteers – they’ve recently had to cap their attendance because of the need for more volunteers. First Christian Church of Atlanta, Tucker, hosts a Holiday Marketplace on Saturday, November 15, from 10 am to 4 pm at 4532 LaVista Rd., Tucker, GA 30084. Featuring local artisan gifts and decor, holiday treats and beverages, activities for kids, and festive music, the event promises to get you ready for Advent and Christmas. The Table at First Christian Church, Warner Robins, is gearing up for its Christmas Bazaar on November 15 from 10 am to 2 pm. Featuring handmade items and gifts, proceeds go to support The Table’s extensive outreach programs. These include Service Sundays, every 4th Sunday, when members gather to work on a variety of projects such as assembling survival backpacks for neighbors experiencing homelessness, pocket prayer quilts for nursing staff at a local ICU, food and toiletry bags for neighbors experiencing homelessness, and much more. First Christian Church of Decatur is hosting its annual Christmas Tree and Wreath Sale, and help from you or your congregation or youth group is needed to make it a success! It is a lot of fun, and includes a variety of volunteer opportunities for adults and youth ages 12 and up. Tree unloading is on Sunday, Nov. 23 at noon (or come as soon as you are able). The time-limited sale runs from Friday, Nov. 28 through Sunday, Dec. 7, with lot takedown Saturday, Dec. 13.
